Salt Box Homes in Newfoundland

My last trip to Newfoundland I took an interest in photographing the old saltbox houses that are prevalent on the island. There are serval varieties of styles according to the age they were build. Many of the homes are now covered with vynal siding due to the harsh weather condition of that region. We were able to stay in a few that have been converted to a bed and breakfest. It was interesting to look at these homes up close and see the handy work of the builders from years ago. There is so much history to expore and photograph in Newfoundland. It is a fascinating place even with the harsh weather they deal with most of the year. And with anyplace you travel, it is the people that you meet and get to know that make a trip rememberable
